FAQ

What is the price range for The Album Room Services?

Albums vary in a price from $600 - $3,000 depending on your album selection, image count and customizations. Visit our Pricing page to calculate your album choice.

What is the Assisted Design Service option?

Here's how the Assisted Design option works:
You pick the style of album and the images you want included. Once you have the list ready, you will need to send us a disk of the images in high-resolution. If your photographer is associated with Craig Paulson Photography, there's no need to send a disk, just the list of images you want included.
Once we have your list, you set up an appointment to come by the studio to work on your layout. Appointments are booked in 3 hour increments and most people can complete a layout in one 3 hour session.
Once you have completed your layout, we will go through and color correct the images and order the album for you.

Do I need to have computer skills?

NO COMPUTER SKILLS NEEDED! We use a fantastic and intuitive software, that is truly as simple as a drag and drop of the photos into your templates. When you schedule an appointment we will have everything prepped and ready for you. After a quick one-on-one tutorial, you will be off to creating! But no worries… if you need some help or a professional opinion we will be with you the whole time; helping you or just getting your creative juices going. We are devoted to making this process quick and enjoyable.

What are your hours of operation?

You can reach us Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 6:30pm. Meetings are scheduled by appointment only Monday through Friday and can be after 6pm if necessary.  Click here to contact us to schedule an appointment.

How long will it take to create my album if I choose the Assisted Design Service option?

It usually takes less than 3 hours for a larger album (over 50 images) and 1 ½ hours (under 50 images) for a parent album. We allot you one  4 hour appointment or  you can choose to do two 2 hour appointments. If you need more time it is an additional $35 per hour. Due to the ease of the software none of our clients have so far had to extend their appointment time.

What kind of event do you make albums for?

There's not limit to what you can create with your album.  The majority of our clients are recently married and are creating an album of wedding photos, but we've made albums for anniversaries, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, birthday parties, engagement parties and bridal showers.  You just need to make sure the images you are using are high-resolution.

What files will I need to supply?

You'll need to give us the high-resolution jpegs from your event. We'll just need the images you want included in the album.

If your photography was through Craig Paulson Photography, then we'll pull the files for you. You'll just need to give us a list of file numbers.

What if I do not want to make my album myself, can The Album Room still create my album for me?

Yes absolutely. You will choose the Full Service option, which means one of The Album Room's expert designers will create your album layout for you using the specific photos you want. We will create your first layout within 2 weeks. We will send you a link to review your layout and make adjustments.

How long do the albums take?

Album completion will vary with your album type and size. Digital and Fusion albums take 6 to 8 weeks from when the album is ordered until it's delivered to us. Art and Styla albums take 8 to 10 weeks. Asuka and coffee table books take about 4 - 6 weeks.

How will I receive my album?

We will notify you as soon as your album is delivered to our office. You can opt to have it shipped to you which we will do from here once we have checked it to make sure it's up to our standards of quality. (standard shipping & handing fees will apply)

Why did you choose the albums you carry?

The Album Room is very selective of the albums we offer.  We have spent many years developing relationships with suppliers who provide high-quality products that we have tested over time.  Our goal is to provide albums that we would be proud to display in our homes and are still very customizable to each client's needs.

What is the difference between a Matted and a Digital album?

In a matted album, the pictures are printed on photographic paper and mounted in to the album with a core board mat overlay. This is a more traditional style of album but it's still timeless.
In a digital album, the pictures are printed directly on the page.  Both styles of albums are available in a variety of cover options.

How do I choose the best album for me?

The best way to decide on an album is to schedule a time to come by the studio to see what we offer. You can always start by looking through the website, but it's easier to get a sense of the differences between the albums when you see them in person. Contact us to set up a meeting.

What is the life of digital albums vs. prints?

Your prints can last for 100+ years. The same as any other print, to maintain your picture quality never leave exposed to direct sunlight or water. Digital prints will last lifetimes!

Can I order individual prints from The Album Room?

Yes. Prices will vary depending on size. Contact us for a quote.

Does The Album Room retouch photos? And what is the price?

Yes. It is $25/image for the standard retouching and will increase according to the extensive retouching required. Our trained retouchers are pretty fast. For example, if you want to eliminate a few strands of hair blowing in the wind that would cost $25. If  your retouching is more extensive; for example, removing a person this can charge can vary from $50-70.

How many pages can I have in my Album?

For Jorgensen Albums the minimum is 12 pages, which is 24 sides and the maximum is 30 pages, which is 60 sides.
For Asuka Book Albums the minimum is 23 pages, which is 50 sides and the maximum is 48 pages, which is 100 sides.
Note: Up to 8 photos can be printed per page on most standard albums. You can go up to 12 for a large album.
