The Album Room works with photographers all over the US offering their clients high-end albums and a premium service. We wanted to highlight one of our most cherished photographers, Jean Spencer. Jean has worked for our partner company Craig Paulson Photography for many years and has recently moved to Boston together with her husband,Dallas and 10 month son, Felix, to open her own photography business. Jean’s work oozes with beauty, confidence and true talent and we wish her great success and happiness. What a classy website, check it out …. Jean Spencer Photography
One of Jean’s bespoke weddings was shot in Berlington, VT at the West Monitor Barn with Megan and Mark. ”Understated Elegance” was their goal and they certainly achieved it. Jean captured the essence of the day beautifully, take a look …
The cappuccino leather of the Styla album paired with crispy white mats were a stylish compliment to the rustic chic pictures.
Thank you Jean for your friendship and continued partnership with The Album Room.
There is a lot of hard work, creativity and love that goes into planning a Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah … these keepsakes will be on the bookshelf alongside the first baby years, graduation and weddings. We worked with Jenna and her family to document this very special day in a beautiful leather bound Vogue album, moments captured by Craig Paulson Photography.
Check out Jenna’s sister Carly …. not many young girls can rock the look of a beautiful dress and red socks!
… not that any dad would need a picture to remember this moment but, hey, this is special…
Daniel’s family chose an Asuka album. Thank goodness the Westrichs did take a few years to choose their pictures as now the album company have upgraded their lay flat style pages so they seamlessly display the images across the double page. Just in time for the family to make their matching Barmitzvah book for Daniel’s brother, Andrew.
Both Daniel and Andrew Westrich’s Bar Mitzvahs were photographed by Craig Paulson.

One of our favorite photographers, Ian Londin of Londin Photography, shot Alexandra’s Bat mitzvah. The Bass family chose our Vogue Digital album in our “hottest” color at the moment … silver buckram. It’s fun but classy! Talking of which … if you’re looking for a fun and classy addition to your party Ian and his wife Laura also run The Booth, check it out!
… we don’t just stop at Albums…. I have just spent a very creative couple of hours at The Arm, the letterpress shop in Williamsburg with the the very talented Ellie Noelke. Ellie expertly helped me create some fabulous note cards and signs for the up and coming event at The Hornblower Bridal show this Sunday 21st of April.
Henry the dog was also an intricate part of the process, he made the working space very homely and hip at the same time. Well, lets face it .. what isn’t hip in Williamsburg these days!
Penguin Publishers have updated their Classic Collection books with a new, unique look. You can now find Penguin’s Classics featured with a different pattern design on each title. Take a look at the transformation yourself- They’re adorable!
Before…
& After…
We loved the idea that Penguin came up with because it reminded us of what we are all about here at The Album Room. We start with a classic idea: a photo album, but we let you make it unique and the perfect fit just for you!
Generally, every couple that comes to us ready to produce an album has the same important question … How can I narrow down my 1000 wedding pictures to only 100?
This is probably one of the top reasons why couples put off making their wedding album and we understand it can be a daunting task to take on. We want to help … we’ve found that once you break the day down into sections it becomes a whole lot easier. Here is a cheat sheet to help you simplify the job and if you can consume a glass of wine during the task you may even enjoy the process! The golden rule is “go with your instinct” if you love the picture include it, don’t worry about what other people would do and don’t forget we can make a picture exactly how you want it with the right crop!

Break down your wedding day into sections. Below is a guide you can use to section out your wedding day. We’ve also included a guide about how many photos to have within each section. Keep in mind every wedding is unique so your sections may vary, feel free to rearrange/rename your sections.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many images should my album have?
Generally, our clients stay within 80-120 images for their wedding album. However, this can vary according to the size of your families and number of guests at your wedding. The more people you have to represent in your album, the more images you will have. When narrowing down your pictures keep in mind you don’t necessarily need 5 pictures of your Aunt Helen, use one great picture of her and Uncle Henry… then check them off your list and move on.
How many images should I give to The Album Room to design my layout?
We ask that you give us extra images to work with. For example if you want to keep around 100 images in your album, we ask that you give us around 120-130 images. If you like two images that are similar and you can’t choose just one then include both, we will see which one tells the story best.
Do I need to include any pictures of detail?
Definitely, detail images are what tie your album together. These are some of the most important pictures when telling your wedding story. We love a variety of detail pictures to choose from. Ideas of details to include… your bouquet, your something old, the table arrangement, favors, that amazing wedding cake, even the view of the rainy day. These are the little details that make your wedding your own.
Should my wedding album be in the exact order that it occurred?
Not at all, don’t get caught up in the exact timeline. It’s your wedding album, arrange it as you wish. If your family shots were taken before the ceremony it doesn’t matter that they appear later in the album so as not to break up the story.
We are here to help, get in touch if you have any questions.
The 14th February is a day for our clients to appreciate and celebrate their individual love stories. Naturally, we at The Album Room were inspired to share with our clients a few fun facts about this day dedicated to love.
Love is in the air! It’s estimated that about 4 million Americans will get engaged on Valentine’s Day this year.
More than 100 million roses are sold at Valentine’s Day. Of those 100 million roses sold 73% of those are purchased by men.
We all have heard the phrase “wearing your heart on your sleeve”, but the phrase has actually come from the middle ages, when according to a popular tradition, young men and women would draw names from a bowl to know who their valentines were and then they would wear that name on their sleeve for the entire week. Nowadays, we commonly know that “to wear your heart on your sleeve” means to not be afraid to show your emotions.
We wanted to share a lovely testimonial we received from our recent clients Susan and Derek. Susan used our Assisted Design Service and designed her family a one of a kind wedding album and gave it to her for Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed having Susan hang out with us while designing her album. Susan designed a 12×12 Vogue album with a gorgeous black silk cover.
The Album Room team was very helpful and guided me in making a BEAUTIFUL wedding album in record time! I chose the DIY option and enjoyed putting the photos together in the album (and there will be someone there with you if you need any help). There are limitless options to choose from (material, size, number of photos, layouts) so that you can create the perfect album for yourself. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience overall. I will be back to make more albums!
Happy 2013! We felt it fitting to share one of our favorite albums, Marcie and Eric’s New Year’s Eve wedding 2012. One year ago Marcie and Eric rang in the New Year by tying the knot with friends and family in Denver … I hear from Marcie it was pretty tough for the fun crowd to top the party celebrations for 2013 but we were so happy to help commit these wonderful wedding memories to the page in a beautiful grey linen Fusion album …
Happy One Year Anniversary Marcie and Eric!
Marcie and Eric loved their gorgeous stationary designed for them by Cheree Berry Paper, so they wanted to prominently showcase it in their wedding album. ‘Tis the season to be merry. We wanted to share with you our most recent festive holiday albums that have just arrived. Now, since our clients haven’t actually seen them yet we are only giving you a sneak preview of the beautiful leather covers. China’s mum, Kiendl, chose the rich poppy red.. we so want to show you China’s dress but you’re just going to have to wait until the new year.
